Description

A bright and sticky sauce that combines the sweetness of mango with the heat of habanero and the richness of honey, perfect for glazes or dips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe mango, diced
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 23 habanero peppers, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the diced mango, honey, habanero peppers, minced garlic, and lime juice.
  2. Give the blender a quick pulse to start blending; it might look chunky at first.
  3. Blend until smooth, about 30 to 60 seconds; scrape down the sides if needed.
  4. Taste and add salt as needed.
  5. Transfer to a saucepan and heat over medium heat for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool. Use as a glaze, marinade, or dipping sauce.

Notes

For a creamy version, whisk a spoonful into mayonnaise or Greek yogurt. This sauce can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for about one week.
